Pure water cleaning can be a great window cleaning method. Pure water cleaning uses a series of filters to turn tap water into purified water that is free of sediments. The purified water then runs through a hose and out from a brush attached to a water fed pole.

Traditional window cleaning uses a scrubber to agitate dirt, then the dirty water is cleared away by a squeegee. Both techniques are effective, though both have their limitations.

Many window cleaners have a love/hate relationship with water fed pole systems. One advantage is safety. Window cleaners can work from the ground, thus avoiding falls from a ladder. Another pro is time saved. A window that normally takes a few minutes to clean, now only takes thirty seconds. A water fed pole used correctly can also clean a window better than a squeegee. One major drawback is cost, with systems running thousands of dollars.

The most common method, is also an effective way to get windows clean. A cleaning solution is applied with a scrubber, then cleaned away with a squeegee. The costs of the tools are affordable, and found at most hardware stores. Learning the right technique takes time to develop. If you live in hot climates such as Palm Springs, you have to move fast. Often your solution will dry before you can clear it away. If you have windows three or four stories up, a ladder may be necessary.

All things considered

With all these points considered, different scenario’s require different solutions. My company just recently added pure water cleaning less than a year ago. I have been happy with the results, as well as my customers. I ended up building my own unit using filters purchased from Wateranywhere and my pole from ABC Window Cleaning Supply.
